LOVERS

volunteer button whiteJoin the Legion of Volunteers!  Regional Gatherings are an all-volunteer effort. Join the party by volunteering. New to Mensa? New to MWM? Want a great way to spend time with friends old and new? Sign up to volunteer today!

The program has been finalized and is now available here – use it to plan when you would like to volunteer!

This is a call out to all volunteers in all areas, but especially for Speaker Shepherds.  If there’s a program you already know you’ll be attending, please consider volunteering to be the Speaker Shepherd.

FAQs (there are only two)

What does a Speaker Shepherd do?

The Speaker Shepherd plays a vital role to ensure our guests feel welcome, know where to go and, overall, feel totally appreciated.

  • Before their arrival, know which room and where it is
  • Make sure the door is closed just before the presentation begins
  • Begin the program on time starting with introducing the speaker  (the words will be provided, don’t worry.)
  • Provide a visual signal (point to your watch) to the speaker when there are 10 minutes left
  • Stand and thank the speaker, and lead the audience with a round of applause

What do I get out of it?

  • In addition to that warm and fuzzy feeling that comes with helping out, you get one-on-one time with the speaker!
  • Volunteer raffle tickets for some great prizes

ALL volunteers get entered into the exclusive Volunteer Raffle. The more you help, the more chances to win.  And, as an extra incentive, peak times and extra efforts, such as schlepping and set-up, deserve extra tickets.  The Volunteer Raffle will be held Sunday afternoon and you do not need to be present to win.
